Penticton loosely translates from the indigenous peoples language to “A Place To Stay Forever”.  Located in the Southern Okanagan and part of the Thompson-Okanagan real estate area Penticton is a place of diverse weather and activities.

The population in Penticton is roughly around 35,000 people making it the third largest city in the Okanagan.

Winter Activities

Hockey, Curling, Snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, skating, and tubing are all popular activities during the winter months in Penticton with most of them taking place at Apex Alpine the local ski resort.

Penticton is famous for its beaches and all the activities that revolve around them such as boating, water skiing, windsurfing, floating the channel, and just enjoying the sun; sand; and water in general.

Real estate in Penticton is fairly affordable, especially when compared to the lower mainland. Current factors that are expected to increase the price of real estate in Penticton are the Penticton Regional Hospital which is undergoing a massive face-lift starting in 2016 and expecting to last for at least 4 years. A new mall is also in the works at the south end of town just off of the bypass. One large project that is now completed is the South Okanagan Events Center where hockey games, concerts and other events are held. You will also find plenty of wineries, vineyards, and orchards in and around Penticton.
